2006: Past Study Outcomes
In 2006, ITD studied a reroute of SH-55 to start below the McCall Airport at Johnson Ln. However, this concept was dismissed and deemed not feasible for the area based on environmental impacts and a poor cost-benefit ratio, and no action was taken.

2024-2026: Current Project
To fund this preliminary design project, ITD and the City of McCall were awarded a RAISE grant: Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity.

By spring 2026, the project team will identify the costs and specific design elements needed to bring both roadways up to highway and city standards for a potential corridor exchange. No funding for either roadway's improvements beyond this initial design phase has been identified.
